Prii freak me out a little, because they can just hiss up behind you like a snake. Seriously, they're too quiet at low speeds. I ride my bicycle to work and around town sometimes (take that, planet! er...), and I've been surprised by finding a Prius behind me more than once. I've also beaten them down streets before, but that's another story...

Mine is a 2005, and I haven't noticed it being all that quiet, but I don't live in a city. The electric motor is quite audible while going down the road at 50km/h though, not that it stays on electric only for all too long at those speeds.

Biggest thing that freaks me out is the loud whirring nose they make when you shut them off. I've got some strange looks before.
