Working the keyboard is challenging; I fumble a lot with the Q, W, S, and E keys (I don't even know how to use A and D effectively). Unfortunately, I think it is more important for melees to master the controls. So while I look like I'm standing around trading blows, it's not due to a misunderstanding of what to do; my fingers just aren't nimble enough to catch up to what I want to do. It's really frustrating when the guy retreats with < 5% health but I can't catch him because I end up running in some other direction. (Is it just me, or do we move in a slightly slow motion?)
More practice, I guess.
Qin li - I use mouse for skills cuz its arkward for me to handle a w s d for movement and num/f keys for skills
I am like in and out, rolling around the enemy and never stopping.
If a thief stops, that's when you will get in danger.... you constantly need to be moving in and out of melee range.
I have a G600 MMO mouse and i activate all my skills on the mouse so that frees up my movement.
For anyone not able to catch an enemy because they are running, Skill 4 of the dagger will cripple and Skill 4 for the pistol will daze and stop them enough.
That or just see if you can steal... that's a teleport right there.
I looked at some Youtube videos on strafing around while facing an enemy. This gives the advantage of allowing you to attack while (hopefully) you're always out of its "cone" of attack. It looks pretty good as demo'ed, but to achieve that required me to use my left ring, middle, and index fingers on Q, W, and E and my right hand on the mouse. And even then it's rough, and I have yet to learn to do it in small enough a radius to be able to use daggers and swords (I'm using two pistols right now, so kinda like a caster).
So I've been stretching my pinky (with some awkward pivoting) to activate skills 1 and 2. The rest of the skills, unfortunately, are not readily accessible and will require me to stop strafing momentarily to activate.
If you can do that with A W S D (implying use of only one hand), then you'd be an awesome thief (or anything, really).
Haha yeah I do need to practice strafing myself. I will try to pay more attention to how I do it.
