Past the purposefully deceptive - and IMO "catchy" title - this thread is not about pushing others buttons. It is simply a thread to post ones pet peeves for fun and discussion; a general rant thread if you will, but with focus hopefully...we shall see. On that note, this thread is one of discussion, not arguing. If things for some reason turn heated (which isn't discussion anymore IMO), end it.![]()
To start off, statements of the obvious get under my skin. I don't know if it is solely for the purpose of social engagement that it happens, but I unfortunately dish out a toxic dosage of sarcastic contempt in response -- this pisses others off and is something I am working on correcting in myself...
Another thing that turns me off is the use of over generalization. I get mad and correct myself when I fall prey to it, and if I hear it elsewhere I immediately turn off my attention until it is better presented.

I think I do a decent job of avoiding over-generalization because it annoys me, too, but I admit I slip up at times. As anyone who visits these forums regularly probably knows by now, sometimes I say things without fully explaining them because it makes sense in my head...
Loud voices annoy me. I can't stand loud people. Maybe it's because my brother and father are really loud and I don't get along with either, but when I hear people shouting in public places, I just want to shush them.
How come you aren't green anymore??

Life is being a little more demanding.
...
Loud voices do get to me in public places as well, especially if they are clearly done for attention or being obnoxious. They tend to annoy me though rather than set me off like what I have listed. Speaking of which, I would put stating the obvious a clear winner by a good margin over over generalizations -- one will not get the sarcasm from me with over generalizations; which I usually tend to just ignore.
Oh, I'm not a "go off" kind of person. Someone has to do something downright insulting to someone I care about for me to get mad. I have a pretty high tolerance for disrespect when it comes to myself (depending on the person).
I'm remarkably level-headed, especially considering how many things actually get on my nerves.

Misread as "crush them".
Loud voices annoy me, too, especially if I have to listen to them from another floor with at least one door between myself and the source. Heated conversations and my brother's cat butchering, err, I mean, guitar playing are the main culprits.
Prematurely passing judgement is something that boils my blood as well. I have in the past, resisted the urge to scream at my own mum after she declared a murder suspect in the UK was an asylum seeker purely because he wasn't British (I think he was from an EU country, actually). I also wanted to slap someone after an unrelated death (someone fell off the back of a building) when the news cropped up on Facebook and a commented said it was "probably through drinking" but managed to post a much calmer response. I still wonder how she even came to that conclusion before a coroner had even touched the body, though.
Don't get me started pop music fandom. That's not so much annoying as outright scary.![]()
There's no shame in asking questions. Ask away at the Newcomer and Questions Forum for GW2. GW1 archive here.
Here comes your warrior, he's letting you know... that you can discuss the profession here.

Oh yeah, pop culture drives me bonkers, too lol
Rudeness / disregard for others gets me going... I don't know about where you guys live, but here it is considered courteous to wait for passengers to exit a subway car before you get on it. People who don't do that need to get kicked in the back of the kneecap. Also the people who walk up while the subway is pulling in and stand in front of you, even though you've been waiting for a few minutes. Should be allowed to push them on the third rail.

People not wanting to get informed about stuff they are passionate about.
Also, people pigeonholing me into the opposite camp just because I disagree about something. Being neutral is pretty hard to pull off well, give me a break please.

Follower dedication: what followers?
Daffiest doctrine: if you will worship something blindly, might as well be science
