Asylum
Asylum officially acquired its name back in the summer of 2010 by a group of Star Wars and gaming fanatics anticipating the then upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG. While our main focus was in SW:TOR, the guild also showed its presence in many other titles such as World of Warcraft, Star Wars Galaxies, and Lord of the Rings Online. In our high point, we accomplished many achievements in The Old Republic, conquering the original Operations and Warzones and earning respect from many on our server as helpful and knowledgeable gaming veterans. We are based out of North America with a majority on the eastern seaboard but range all over the globe to as far as Australia. RP is welcomed!
Purpose
As a gaming veteran and enthusiast for a decade, I have meant many people who have taught and forged me into the gamer I am today. The creation of Asylum was, to me, the uniting of all those people who have influenced me over my years of accomplishments and success. These people have most notably led me to leading one of the top guilds on my server in World of Warcraft, defeating the vile leaders in the fortress of Naxxaramas, conquering the trials in the Trail of the Crusader, bringing the Lich King to justice on 10 and 25 man normal mode along with going 11/12 on 10 man heroic and 9/12 on 25 man heroic, and finally taking down the enemies of The Ruby Sanctum.
Our play in The Old Republic was a time when I nearly had all the people I could ask for in my guild from the years I’ve played. We accomplished a lot and showed that this guild was right and served its purpose. Unfortunately, many of us became bored and dissatisfied with The Old Republic’s end game and decided to leave the game permanently. We then turned our attention to Guild Wars 2, a more innovative game in the MMO industry. Now, a shadow of what we were, I am seeking more individuals to revitalize the meaning of Asylum and further be part of those who influenced and changed my gaming perspective , inspired me to reach a better level of gaming, and let me admire and respect them for the knowledgeable contributions they give to a make a guild great.
Overall, I’ve always strived to have fun by success. I am looking for those that seek the same success that I seek and want to have fun by pushing to conquer elements of the game. With the right people, a guild becomes more than successful though, it becomes its own family, in which I want in the end.

Requirements
Skype:
Skype is used to keep the guild communicating and united. Guild websites are usually unnecessary and lack a purpose so I rather use Skype as an alternative to keeping in touch until launch. It’s quick chat and calling abilities allows easy back and forth conversation privately and publicly, especially if you have the Skype App on your cell phone. The guild is finishing filling up the Skype group at this time since its requirement was just implemented. Skype is completely free and only requires a small download.
Ventrilo:
Ventrilo is what we will be using post-launch to communicate while in game. A guild server is already set up and used while guild mates play other games or during beta events. Details on server information will be shown in the Skype Group description once you are added. Ventrilo is completely free and only requires a small download.
