Opening ceremonies where a few days ago -- thought them interesting. Looks like China is leading right now in Gold/& medals overall.
I like the gymnastics, track, swimming, fencing, and volleyball, and of course football.
I saw that sixteen year old Chinese swimmer win the 400m medley. Those last 100m were out of this world (faster than the freestyle world record for men on the last 50m IIRC). I just can't give her the benefit of the doubt, when I heard she swam the same distance 7 seconds slower last year.
Germans pretty much sucked so far, but I don't really care that much about it.

The opening ceremony was so bad. My friend and I were just ripping on it the whole time. I love how they keep showing clips of the three cool parts to make it look interesting.
I was watching some of the gymnastics today while we were at breakfast... feel bad for the girlswho messed up. Must be rough.

I thought it was pretty good, sure the start was kinda slow but after that I thought it was very entertaining (though those athletes coul've walked a little faster x_x).
The cycling was fun, for the men Vinocourov(sp?) getting olypmic gold in his last race and also the winner not being Cavendish. And in the women's the first dutch gold medal :)
The Italian female fencing yesterday was hilarious.
I don't know if he won but one of them was a prissy princess who challenged everything not going her way.
Seeing a grown woman who is obviously from money take a tantrum often was comedy gold.

Italy got all 3 medals for fencing. I can't find a video of that woman throwing a tantrum though. I'd love to see that.

I am just happy I am back home and have access to cable (last summer olympics I was living in japan and only had 'local' tv)...so I can watch sports other than ping pong and swimming.....
didnt watch the opening, after watching the china one for the winter games decided its just not worth my time.
I liked 'Chariots of Fire' during the opening ceremony:

And as an archer I'm really interested in that competition.

I can't picture myself watching archery, despite practising it myself.
Some sports imo are not made for spectators.
