Watched some judo while being on the cross walker in the gym today. Some times I wish the referees would assign punitive points for inactivity more often, sometimes I think they hand them out too fast. Germans are not doing too bad there, although we have not won a gold.
I was happy the German female track cycling team got a gold (even with the fact that the "winner" medallists got disqualified). Saw an interview with both of them a few days ago and they were very charming and nice. And one of them had a serious accident when she was hit by a car in training in 2009. She was in a coma for two days, broke a lot of bones and still made it to the top three years later. The medal is well deserved for never giving up.
PS: I am crossing my fingers for the handball team from Iceland (Germans didn't qualify), because I know one of the players.

My fiancee's reaction was pretty much the equivalent of facepalm.

As an undefeated 100m, 200m and 400m champion (at highschool level - just one level beneath Olympic) I'm going to have to disagree. I can't imagine the 100m being very interesting to watch, though, if you don't know the feeling of running it well. Anyway, pick yer favourite distance and call me awesome (I've still got it! I could still show those kids a thing or two!
I just admire the fact that those runners can run that fast (~44 sec) over the distance of 400 meters.
There is nothing really special I want to watch today.

What about Greco-Roman Wrestling? *Me gusta face*
Concerning the guy that threw the bottle at the 100m sprinters right before the start (you might have noticed yesterday, I did):
He was a drunk moron, that was sitting next to Dutch judo bronze medallist Edith Bosch, who subdued him until security arrived. Not only an idiot, but karma got him right away.
PS: I think it was a great gesture that Kirani James wanted Oscar Pistorius's (who did not qualify for the finals) name tag immediately after he won the race.
