Kind of curious to see how ranked PvP will turn out with the system that is in place in GW 2. I wonder if we'll see teams of one or two types of professions or if we'll be getting mixed bags.

Guru seem well placed to do this. Surely the largest English speaking member base and Anet seem to actually communicate with them.

It's easier to get an oversight of how GW2 PvP will work as there are fewer formats than GW, and the point of it being easily accessible and newb friendly has been made repeatedly, including in the posted interview. From memory, Guru also has plenty of hard-core types that'll be out to make a name for themselves, and then everyone else in between. I'd guess they've got the whole GW2 player spectrum covered. That's all going to work in their favour, yeah? They've got the population and the momentum to get things done.

Haven't been over that way in a long while so I could be wrong, of course, but I can see it working out well. I know one thing, GW2 PvP sure as hell doesn't live at Team Quitter. Is there anyone else who might be doing this kind of stuff well?
