Not sure if this is useful but this video has the armor sets with the male and females side by side to see some differences between the genders.

I think there are just generic armors (ie. a medium armor that can be worn by all races and all adventurers) or possibly profession armors, like this one. Because I'm positive I've seen that armor on my Norn Ranger.

So, does every armour piece have a sylvari equivalent? Or do they just wear the same stuff as humans and is their cultural armour the only armour that's plantlike?

I think the latter. From what I saw only asurans and charr have their own unique sets to the race, but that's mainly because it is pretty much impossible to use the same sets for those character models.

As far as I am informed, the Snapdragon/Bamboo/Thicket armours (Tier 1-3 each) are the only plant/cultural armours for Sylvari. Some of the Human armours look kind of organic, so they might not look to bad on a Sylvari or mixed with the cultural armour.

As a side note, at first I didn't like that asura armors and charr armors were pretty much identical for male and female characters, but the more I look at them, the more I support that choice. I just love that my ele is not going to be running around in the stereotypical skimpy outfits (charr) squeee.
