    Varajar Fells Notebook

    While looking through the Durmand Priory's archives, I found a book labeled "Varajar Fells Notebook". It is enchiphered with the same method used for the message in The Path to Revelations in the original Guild Wars.

    it reads:
    O'rtyotct Cvevzve'Qtyya ioyy'rt xh'djxr qje'O pvct'mj staoet'dj ytvct'dpoa cvyyth'jq dbxryts'njsa.
    Dpt'qvutda pvct'rttm etctvyts, vms'dpt uolpte'va ityy. O'pvct xvadtets'dptx.
    V'netvdte bmsteadvmsomn'ja dpt'Tdtemvy Vyuptxh'oa iodpom'xh etvup.
    Pbxvm'njsa, upvee'njsa, mjem'vmoxvy djdtxa - dpth'vet lved'ja dpt'vyy-tmujxlvaaomn Tdtemvy'Vyuptxh.
    O'vx pbxryts'va mtcte'rbajet rh'dpt nevmstbe'jq od, vms'rh xh'jim vroyodh'dj ujmutoct'jq abup'cvadmtaa.

    I then used the key to the original cipher, provided by Coran in his post on the original message at http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forum...63#post5082263 to decipher it, using the context to identify the few remaining unknown characters. The key is reproduced below, with my additions added in bold:

    A=S B=U C=V D=T
    E=R F=* G=* H=Y
    I=W J=O K=* L=P
    M=N N=G O=I P=H
    Q=F R=B S=D T=E
    U=C V=A W=K X=M
    Y=L Z=J

    *=There are not any of the letters in the message
    ‘=Space

    Translated, the Notebook reads:
    I believe Varajar Fells will be my tomb for I have no desire to leave this valley of tumbled gods.
    The facets have been revealed, and the cipher as well. I have mastered them.
    A greater understanding of the Eternal Alchemy is within my grasp.
    Human gods, charr gods, norn animal totems - they are all part of the all-encompassing Eternal Alchemy.
    I am humbled as never before by the grandeur of it, and by my own ability to conceive of such vastness.

    Many thanks to coran for providing the key to the cipher in his post on the original cipher, without it I wouldn't have bothered translating it and just left it here in its enciphered form.

    I'm glad you went ahead and did this - I grabbed screenshots and had intended on cracking it myself, but hadn't yet got around to it. I don't suppose there's any clue as to who wrote it?

    It's a safe bet that the author was an Asura, judging from the reference to the Eternal Alchemy and the arrogance of that last line.
