GW2 is crap crap crappy crap poxy crappy crap on a stick dipped in sh!t and rolled in breadcrumbs.
Might be you. Our conversation went as follows:
- party wipes on first group in AC story
Elitist: you've all done this before right??
- elitist leaves group
Me: For the record, this game is 1 month old, I've been on holiday 2 weeks which implies a fulltime job. No I did not do this before, I have no idea what to expect from this dungeon. Let's make the best of it.
- finished the dungeon with lots of joking, talking over tactics and no real wiping problems. Afterwards we all had to split but thanked each other because it was a fun run in a good dungeon.
Conversation is what YOU make of it. Most people don't talk by default, and the best comparison is dry wood. It takes a single spark to ignite a conversation for better or for worse. YOU be that spark, make the dungeon party into a real party of people enjoying something together instead of expecting others to function like bots or heroes. You may realize they perform far better when the party is a group of talking humans instead of Golems spewing abbreviations.
I was very annoyed the other evening when after a 'defend this location' mob storm event left several players defeated, & a group of 4 from the same guild /dance'd on them before running off, leaving me & 1 other as the only res'ing.
Grrrf
True, but completely unrelated to GW2. If anything, it only further proofs that the introduced ad-hoc "teaming" (as in, everyone can attack the same target and get credit without being grouped) doesn't make more or even better team-players. You still need proper grouping and communication for that to work well.

My rant...
I miss my monk. :(
I miss missing to catch a spike cuz my character is drunk, decides to do a random emote and a teammate dies. :(
I miss casting Vengeance on that one teammate that charges into every mob (and watching it get shattered). :(

That made me think of Clint Eastwood.
Oh yeah, GW2 isn't magic. I expect a large number of people who pass me by to be jerk, but most of the time we play together and I don't notice. They are not less jerks, it's just that they have fewer ways to mess up my play time.
Overall score.
lol :)
