I haven't done fencing since uni. Probably why armour leggings was lost on me. I don't fight with sharps, so it's not needed.
I also do pistol & rifle shooting, & rock climbing.
So, come the revolution we should be fine :-)
Playable Quaggan with a breather would be ridiculous
Largos seem to have a rebreather on them at all times. Maybe it's actually for breathing in air.
I doubt quaggan will ever be playable since they are called a lesser race.

Didn't humans contribute the discovery of fire? They also prevented the world from being destroyed by magic. I'm sure they're contributing a ton now, but it isn't like they've done nothing.
I think a lot of the comparison of the races is lost in game balance. Norn are probably much strong than everyone else, but they have nearly no organization to utilize their strength. The human/charr war is tricky--without Abbadon (I'm just going straight up the chain)'s intervention to cause the searing and cataclysm, as well as the guild wars just prior which had drained humans resources, I'm unconvinced the charr would have won (as is, it still took decades to get rid of Adelbern after most of his people left).
I guess what I'm saying is, prior to becoming a military state, I don't know if the charr were that much better than the humans. The humans did run them off, after all.

Game balance? Oh no, we're just talking about lore here.

The norn homes look a lot like what a farm house or a minor manor would look like around here about 1000 years ago you know...
Except for a few details in styling (and size obviously.) - they may look primitive but they're actually extremely sophisticated houses. And they're definately not sheds...
Obviously there are differences, mainly because Tyria is a fantasy world and has magic in it... But sheds? Hardly. A properly built longhouse could easily keep people warm and dry throughout the wet and cold seasons.
Charr: Steampunk techs and guns.
Asura: Gateways and other high tech items.
Sylvari: Bio weapons with trees.
Norm: Demonic-possessed bear army. And the beer!
Humans: Historians and farmers. (dead serious. Read their wiki.)
