    Overall Lost Shores thread

    We don't seem to have one.

    I for one would like to high five Anet on the new jumping puzzles. It's like the CWT only less pressure. Also the fractals dungeons is AWESOME. Just AWESOME.

    I know, that's my point. I have a few random things to say but they don't fall under complaining about how some event was laggy or etc. And the one fractals thread we have is a walk through which I am not going to read.

    In the future they should spread out the event locations. Everyone cramming into one tiny location is asking for lag and "invisible enemies".

    Lion's Arch is big enough to host 4 invasions at once. Spreading the population so the lag is less severe.

    20+ players being devastated by mobs they could never see just sucked.

    Also the new content seems to have introduced several crash bugs. I went down several times in the new content, but was fine in the old stuff. A few guildies had the same issues, both Shore and Fractals. Actually we restarted Fractals 4-5 times this morning less than 10 minutes in because of crashes.

    Interesting. Parts of the Lost Shores was fun, but most grew tiring fast. Fractal dungeons are by far the best part of this update, and I would now say of the game as well.

    Fractal dungeons off to the side, GW2 has become boring. Being separated from friends, already having beaten and explored the game already again mostly without friends... there really is not much left except to wait around for more content, and the possibility maybe to even play it with friends when it does.

    I think ANet tried to please too many gamer cliches the more I play; like the game is spread out too thin -- I am certainly happy to have it over D3 though. Or perhaps I am starting to out-grow games in general; may be the case.

    What would really make this game a whole lot better is....dun, dun, dun...GUESTING! A shot in the foot for not implementing it already, again IMO.

    Yes, guesting... Drop everything, get that damn guesting working! I'm seriously disappointed it's still not in the game. I knew it wouldn't be in at the start, but I had expected it before Halloween and simply cannot understand it's not here even now. The Lost Shore would have been the perfect moment to introduce it: Get in those fractals with your friends from all over the world!

    With the exception of not being able to rejoin when disconnected, or odd bugs like a party member falling to their death and not being able to find the body to rez, the new dungeon is okayish. I think they tried too hard to have variety by adding cheesy crap like turning into a Dolphin.

    I thought the island would've been crawling with people, but I understand why it isn't; it sucks. It's beautiful, but there really isn't anything to do there except the occasional event with 2, maybe 3 other random people. The loot (imo) in GW2 is pretty awful, but on the island it's worse. Running around for an hour yielded some crab meat and grey junk. The best thing about the island is the rich orichalcum vein. that's it. I think they should've scrapped the island idea and just focused only on the dungeon.

    This update really didn't entice me to keep playing, if anything it makes me miss the original GW more.

    I expected the island to be heavily event-based. Multiple events running everywhere, stuff going wild, big battlefield (they could have locked some areas for days). But it is just a map with even less enemy types than in Orr.

    1) scavenger hunt : complete fail for 2 reasons: Anet should know by now these event have scripting issues. So either test them better or build in some failsafe routine. Second reason: reward. 5 commendations and 1 karma drop for running around 1 hr ? You got 8 commendations for just throwing 3 blue lvl 80 items plus 1s into the fountain.

    2) phase 2: the island. Pretty useless as such. Do routine events, get little loot (Karka champions eg didnt drop anything nor did they spawn a chest) I can only guess, the island is work in progress (for future events or whatever). The new crafting materials announced were dissapointing. Karka shells: less than 10 out of > 500 killed karkas for me (2x monthly + a few more) and another useless cooking ingredient. Useless as in: generates the same 1c type of food like many others alrdy do.

    3) final event: the usual problems, undealt with since beta: overflow, gfx fireworks etc etc. Many players having lags or even dc'ed (not me, I was lucky there) They should have run that event several times during the 24hr period but make it so, that one can participate 1x only per account.
    Pro: huge loot.

    the best part of this event: nice opportunities to make/safe gold. Having the recipes for infusions leaked to the net a few hours before the event = win. 250 orichalcum pick stacks = win. Being lucky and getting a precursor from final: even more win.
    I didn't get one, but if I were going for a legendary at all, I might be able to buy one cheaper now.

    permanent content: the balancing is ...meh. On the dungeon I can't comment. Didn't have time to try it, yet.

    I have a feeling the finale event might have a smaller version that works like Claw of Jormag. An event chest on par with the dragon lieutenants would also be a good way to give out the outrageously good loot that dropped during the finale.
