Makeover kits were introduced.... The first mention was at 8:00 (not sure if the time shown is location specific or the server time of that gw2spidy server), and a few hours later America woke up and started to buy gems?

Indeed, predicting a spike in prices is trivial. The trick is predicting by how much and how long.

I'm surprised the spike price lasted so little. I missed my window of opportunity.

lol saying gem prices will go up was like the safest bet in all of history.

That's like saying "I bet the sun will rise tomorrow" and then when it does, "TOLD YA, IN YOUR FACES LOLZ!!"

i predicted that the amount of gold>gem will be allot more when the game is released for about a month or so, it took it's time in that but it did.
also, i also said it will rise on such a point that only grinders can reach it, again, that happened.

so my point still stands, TOLD YAH!

Only grinders? lol right... I don't even actively farm and I have 45g+, more than enough to buy things from the gem store with gold if I was desperate enough.

People who actually pve exclusively probably have far more than I do..

How much is too much for Gold per gem and grind have very wide definitions between people IMO.

For myself, sure the cost of gems went up, but they aren't crazy expensive (10g per gem would be crazy expensive for me; but hey, they'd still be "free" rather than paying real money). If one has people to run dungeons with a lot, it is pretty easy to accumulate 10g = 600 gems right now; can be done in a day even. Easy to get 1-2 gold from just playing the game daily; doing DE's etc.

I'd have tons of gold right now, but I spent it all :(

With the price of gems being what they are right now, I'm sort of tempted to buy gems with cash because I have no money in game. Ok, maybe 3g.

Tips to get rich:

Do's:
-dungeons
-high level content
-sell everything
-powertrade if you're good at it

Don't's:
-crafting
-WvW if you are bad at it
-die repeatedly
-waypoint everywhere repeatedly
-buy all the stupid stuff you don't really need
