What I'm saying is, that if the hitbox was removed, the guitar hero beam escalator will be much much harder, because at the top a beam might come out in your face. The staple way to avoid that is to dodge roll forward to avoid being downed and having have to start over. My elementalist can use Mist Form and Obsidian Flesh to avoid the hit completely, but I can't do that with my ranger.
The thing is, there are too many mechanics in the game already that depend on the dodge to make you invincible. There are gust traps in jumping puzzles and Fractals, and they would be out of reach unless you are either good with those things or have access to spammable stability skill. Same with spike/flame traps in places like Ascalon Catacombs.
