Mostly, get rid of having to go through 3-5 loading screens to save a bit of money. Whatever it costs using all those shortcuts is what it should cost going straight.

I think that's the whole reason it's free through the mists. Go through loading screens and kill 3 minutes of your time, or just take the wp by the forge directly.
The cost may seem like a nuisance, but they're a necessary evil. Sure, you may have saved a few gold if they were free, but so would everyone else in the entire game. And all those people with more disposable income means they'd be buying things they otherwise wouldn't, driving up the prices even more, and making even your everyday items less attainable.

Unless they changed it, the last time I tried to go from Durmond Priory or Vigil's Keep to Fort Trinity with my Order of Whispers ele, the guards wouldn't let me through to the gate (I've finished the story with her too...).Originally Posted by satomz

I chose Priory. I can confirm that neither the Vigil nor the Whispers' gate would work for me. Only the gate for the Priory would work. This really puts Whispers at an advantage, since their hide out is right outside of LA.
