Loading time - your experience? (Travel, login, etc...)

Is it just my computer, or is the loading time in the game abysmal? Entering the game, travelling, etc.. - everything seems to take endlessly long.
I'm not just talking about Lions Arch (where I experience endless lag as well), but generally - just travelling from one waypoint to another takes ages.

For reference, I'm on the european server Piquen Square.

My first guess would be it's because of the brilliant system of having one giant server for everyone, instead of those horrible horrible districts where the system/server doesn't have to process as much information at once...
But perhaps it is just my PC, which needs to be reinstalled badly, I know it's calcifying, but in GW1 it's not that bad.

i always have problems with them but i really see no difference, the only thing that bugs me is that the client is so extremely unstable.

LA (and other people heavy places) usually take much longer than a regular zone in. But otherwise it's pretty decent.

LA may take the longest, but thats maybe 5 or so.

One thing to consider is if you're on a standard HD or a SSD. As the SSD will load things up a looooooot faster. It doesn't help loading into LA/busy places *that* much, but yeah, generally there's a big difference between someone on a fancy SSD and someone on an aging, but perfectly functional machine.

How many terabytes do they shuffle around then?
OS is on SSD, game on HD, temp directory on ramdrive.
Do they have to reload everything every time, even if I don't actually leave the zone?

my PC has problems when loading GW2 while i have allot on medium, the weird stuff happens when i run GW2 on win7 with everything maxed out because now it's allot faster while win7 takes more then 1 GB of ram to just start while XP only takes about 400 MB.
mind mumbling isn't it...
