Is Signet of Inspiration necessary or just a preference? I kind of really like Feedback. Though it is situational, the damage is crazy and you can stack confusion with it.

If signet of inspiration is the signet that gives random buffs every x seconds, then I think feedback is hands down a better option. Generally speaking. That said, I didn't really look at the build (on my tablet right now) so I don't know if there's some specific synergy with the signet there.

My builds are never templates, just one thing I tried. For that matter Rabid may be the better damage option than Carrion for your equipment, I just made a decision and didn't do the math because I don't know how it works (referring to the two sources of '5% of toughness is added to condition damage').

SoI is definitely your swap spot. Stick your portals and whatever else is situational there, IMO. SoI is awfully handy in WvW though, and with the extended boon duration I found myself severely missing it when I put in better skills. Especially since swiftness is one of the boons that comes up.

And speaking of swiftness from SoI, as far as I can tell, it does not play well with swiftness from your focus. The focus swiftness seems to completely restart your swiftness duration if applied on top of the SoI swiftness rather than stacking like it's supposed to. So bear that in mind if you're running places in WvW.

Also the activation of SoI... I rarely use it because I don't often have tons of boons on me. But because this is accidentally a boon heavy build -- at the very least you can force protection from chaos armor -- it really is a nice life saver for a zerg. Rarely used, but something to keep in mind.

You don't have a weapon swap in the build, though, so you could just swap to focus for the Swiftness, if that's your main reason for using SoI.

Oh I thought I mentioned I use scepter/focus and GS as my switches.

Even with the boon duration bonus, focus has pretty low uptime on swiftness. So much so that SoI becomes useful for the swiftness alone, and then things like fury and protection are added bonuses for combat.
