    Cultural Weapons for other races?

I can't remember, and can't find any information on this. I was wondering if ANet plans to have any way for one race to get the cultural armor/weapon of another race. I have a charr ranger and have fallen in love with the Wolfborn Bow skin. It would go perfectly with her fur color and pattern. Unfortunately, it's a Norn cultural weapon. And I can't transmute with my Norn because the cultural weapon becomes soulbound on acquire.

Does anyone have any idea on this?

You can get other races cultural weapons, just need enough karma. I really doubt armor will become available in that way. It would kind of defeat the purpose of it being cultural armor. I'm pretty surprised you can actually get cultural weapons from other races frankly heh.

I could swear they told me to bugger off, but I'll check again.

Maybe you didn't have enough karma or something?

Worst case scenario, there's a trick to get soulbound things onto other characters:
    1. Get the item
    2. if the item is level 80, get a fine transmutation stone, otherwise a regular one will do
    3. get the same type of item in the white rarity, as in cheapest available.
    4. Transmute the weapon/armor onto that, and it will lose the soulbindness
    5. Move it to your character of choice and transmute again
    6. ???
    7. Profit!

Source again lawl: I've done this at least twice with Orders armors. My mesmer (priory) and thief (vigil) are both sporting Order of Whispers armors. However, I don't think that trick works on cultural armor

I thought transmutation soulbinds everything anyway. Or, is that just armour and I've not noticed until now? >_<

I do stand corrected! And I feel kinda dumb because I forgot that the cultural weaponsmiths are separate from the cultual armorsmiths. /doh So, that's why I thought they told me to bugger off.

Thank you so much, Raye! And thanks for the tip on the Orders armor. :D

Raye is correct on the transmutation method and that it doesn't work on cultural armors. Transmuting cultural armors to account bound rather than soulbound was removed in a patch, and it was not intended. ANet have changed the description of transmuted items to account bound, although the transmutation windows still have the soulbound warnings.

Awesome trick Raye. I used it to get my necro a new starter masque (I'd accidentally sold or destroyed her original one.)

You weren't able to wear the cultural armors of other races properly even before they patched the ability to transmute them, it would merely display the equivalent cultural armor of your character. I recently used the trick to grant my Mesmer access to the Necromancer Wraith Masque.
