Are world transfers free?

Just got the game for Christmas and I'm really trying to get onto Stormbluff Isle but it's consistently full. However, I don't want to join a different server only to find out that it's not completely free (on the official wiki it says transfers cost 1800 gems). Can anyone confirm one way or the other for me?

Server transfers are currently free pending the completion of the guesting feature. There is a seven day waiting period upon joining a server before you may transfer to another one.

They're free at the moment. Presumably, when guesting goes live, they will begin to charge for transfers. The only limitation at the moment is that once you have moved worlds, you have a 7 day cooldown before you can move again.

Also, keep checking the worlds and how full they are. I kept checking every 10-20 minutes and eventually I managed to snag a place on SBI. Just be patient and keep trying, all it takes is for one person to transfer elsewhere and you're in. :)

Thanks, Kokabel. I'll keep trying unless I can't get on by tonight and then I may just roll on Aurora Glade until SBI opens up.
