I've just again had to lag through LA trying to get to DR, each time having to almost run into the gates just to see where they lead to.
Is there an easier way to do that?
(To be honest, I don't really expect it - it just wouldn't fit in with the rest of the game...)
(Also, may I add that I really like this forum? I've just again dredged through the official forum, it's a nightmare.)
in the case of LA the race is standing right next to the game so you'll know where to go, all other places are kinda left in the dark.
they should actually make it easier, like a name to the destination when you point to your map.

If you're geographically smart, then the gates in LA point in the general compass direction of where the cities lead. Which is neat.
Over time I've just learned where the two gates I most use are (human and grove) and then go "uhhhhhhh" at the others. Which is working okay for now!

Each gate's guarded by members of each race's security forces or equivalent, too. So whenever you're actually at the gate hub, just look at the race of each gate's guards. This is, of course, if culling permits the character models to load fast enough.![]()

The gates in LA have guards of the race of the city. So if you want the norn area, look for the norn guards.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep it in mind next time.
they should do something about the gates in rata sum tho, you can see where the gates go in LA but in RS it's so unclear where each of them are going and LA has some unused gates that are (AFAIK) going to be access points for other contents.

Something as simple as showing the destination name on the mini map on hover (Ala waypoint or poi) would go a long way methinks.

Always bugged me why when I hover in the map, it says "Asura Gate". Yes, I know. But to where?
Agreed on adding that info to the map on hover.
