If you haven't seen RushV's article on the front page, you may want to check it out. There are some great general tips for success in there, as well as a pretty good build for a support banner warrior.
Anyone have any input on this or tested it out? I'm actually in the (slow) process of building a second warrior to be a support, specifically banners, so I'm glad to see there is a demand for this kind of thing.
It's an interesting idea. Much as I like to see more demand for warriors though I wonder if you can't substitute pretty much all of those roles with other classes. (Except for the warbanner...)

Shadowhand: I think you can substitute for other classes, of course, but this guide was meant for a smooth run. If you substitute for squishier classes for example, you might progress faster in some areas and wipe a few times in others. I know for example that mesmer is more uneven like that, some places I am pretty strong (e.g. against slow moving slow-hard-hitting foes) but in other areas I struggle a lot (e.g. with lots of AoE effects spread all over the place wiping my clones easily).

A necromancer might work though. But uh, yeah. I'm not sure I'd play anything called a "fluffer."
IMHO going all out defense and stacking clerics gear while doing weak damage and heals (iirc only about 18% of healing power actually effects banner regen) isn't a good way to support your group. 10 points in Tactics to pick up IB is all you'd need, or 20 to pick up QB. Axe with Warhorn/Mace and a mix of Knight's/Berserker gear.

I have to wonder how effective it is to have one full-time support, as opposed to 5 mostly damage plus a bit of support.
