Unfortunately, stuff like sieging out a keep, watching watergate, escorting yaks, all of which boring jobs. Someone's gotta do 'em. The job is usually split amongst a guild or a co-ordinated server. PvX guilds will generally keep part of the guild bank for sieging up things which helps.
As long as people do their part: plant some siege, run supply, tap the siege to keep it alive, then this shouldn't be too boring and it keeps everyone happy \o/

I actually enjoy doing some of that "boring" stuff from time to time...

Me too!
I feel a sense of accomplishment tricking out a keep or tower, or sneaking some siege into a camp. Watching everyone have fun with it is amazing good times. :D

I imagine most folks only really find it fun to be in the zerg and steamroll through opponents. The idea of firing siege or not spamming attacks to get kills probably sounds boring to most.
I'm the opposite and find rolling with the zerg to be quite boring. There you're just another body and what you do matters very little.

I much prefer small groups going around flipping camps, dollies and sentrys. Then when things get boring, go up to the north camp, set up a few ballistas and farm the defenders coming out <_< . If I'm on alone I'll go siege up / tap one of the keeps we own.
I do like the occasional romp in a zerg, especially when we've got a bit of a karma train going on. But mostly, yeah, small havoc groups :D

I guess they've never arrow cart'ed a zerg before then. Pretty sure that's far more effective than spamming piddly AoE spells in a zerg.
But then I actually like using the treb on the spvp battle of khylo map as well. You get ridiculous glory from hitting/killing people with the treb.

Indeed. STORY TIME.
We wanted SoS's keep, couldn't get through the door, zerg too big. It started off just to the right on the other side of the bridge, they were happy to stand on the other side and throw AoE at us. I lobbed down a ballista, ran to lowlands to more supply, topped it up. Within about 5 minutes there was another ballista. We pushed them off the bridge and to the stairs.
From there we dropped another couple of ballistas, a few arrow carts (supes because we could). But their forces were still pretty strong in the courtyard area. Ran back to Lowlands, but supply was drained. We held the zerg in place with the siege available while some went to Champs, and others went to Bay to get more supply. That's when we built 3 trebs (only 2 shown in the picture).
40 minutes later, SoS realised they were being farmed, and we realised that our treb damage was actually splashing back to the door. Door was down, went into the middle. Hammered on their door and wall for a while. Got in. They had siege lined up in the lords room waiting for us. We built MORE siege to kill their siege. At this point I had to go AFK for dinner, but when I came back Hills was ours :D All the while we had scouts at bay reporting to us that everything was okay there as we were fully expecting them to at least sword it up. Nope.
In short. YAY SIEGE AND SUPPLY :D I'd say most fun I've had all week, but that would be sitting at Titanpaw with 4 sup Ballistas. <_<
ANYWAY.

To clarify, I do like sieging, defending a siege, zergs, escorts, killing escorts, taking or defending smaller points... pretty much everything WvW has to offer except running supplies and rebuilding. Rebuilding is ok if on my way, not worth the detour. I don't have enough experience with trebs to say if I like it, surely I would enjoy the damage, but the game mechanic itself is not very exciting.
That being said, to each their own. We need some zergs, we need some people running trebs, we need people rebuilding. If the rebuilding counted as something more than a bit of XP, I might do it more often. It's the low reward combined with "no fun" that gets me.
