February Monthly Achievement

I just went grocery shopping. I tend to buy enough for two weeks at a time, plus my roommate asked me to pick up some stuff. The cashier said, "I bet this is all for tonight!" I laughed and was like "Oh, I'm gonna eat it all in one sitting." had NO idea why he would have said it. Totally forgot about the super bowl.

I just found out that the superbowl is today. So I think it's safe to say that neither myself or my dogs will be watching.

On topic of monthly, I played for a while yesterday, and salvaged a lot. Brought it up to 50% done. I strongly suspect that for most players that want to get this part of the monthly done, there's going to be a lot of buying salvageable items from the trading post.

I think there are more people like Raye who ordinarily don't care for salvaging who will now have to salvage anyway.

About buying from the TP, I think I'd check the prices... You can get salvage kits for 28 karma a piece, 15 salvages. What if you crafted the most simple item there is? (I don't know exactly what is is, but a something (Simple)) and then salvaged it?

I'm at 28% so far and I generally only salvage gear below fine so it doesn't seem too bad for folks that have a lot of playing time...

Nice thing about salvage is that anything you do (except sPvP) contributes to it. Anything at all. So long as you salvage the drops.

For salvage, I'm buying whites off the TP that salvages into more valuable components. I don't want to spill out my business secrets , but I'll give a hint: leather and cloth.

Playing on an alt and using karma salvage kits is making this a little more manageable. It's unacceptable to me to salvage regular drops from Orr or Fractals when even blues sell for a silver. Playing on a low level, I am happily salvaging everything in to materials I will likely never use, but at least I'm not losing enormous amount of money.

Not for Orr gear, the price of elder wood and mithril is so low atm that even salvaging whites is mostly a loss of money. That being said I salvage because I need the mats for something, not to sell them. Value isnt only monetary, even if I salvage only for the 10 laurels monthly, its a matter of choice I guess.
