Guide for those still after the Mini Black Moa

This is a quick guide to help those of you still after the mini-moa pet. I'll list what you need, where to get them and who to talk to. So, lets begin.

Items required:

Nesting Material: This can be gained from Nuwisha the collector in Resplendent Makuun for 5 Skree Wings.

Branch of Juni Berries: Obtained from the Feed Toma quest outside Sunspear Sanctuary.

Volcanic Rock: Obtained from Perdition Rock, far north.

Moa Egg: Obtained from the Moa Nest in the far south of Regent Valley.

Honeycomb: Reward from the quest A Hunters Pride, collectible from Galton Franks for 8 Stone Grawl necklaces in Sacnoth Valley.

Herring: Traded for 5 Bog Skales by Gruhn the Fisher in Twin Serpent Lakes who is near the exit of Riverside Province.

Zho's Book: Obtained from the Bison Tournament in Gunners Hold when you defeat Zho.

Incubator: You'll need to Zho's book and you need to talk to Captain Juno in Cavalon before getting it crafted by Katharine in Gyala Hatchery for 5 platinum, 50 spirit wood planks and 10 steel ingots.

Also required:

Final Assault access: This is the final quest in the Sorrow's Furnace dungeon in Tyria. You'll need this active to get to the Forgemaster at the end of the quest. Now you do not need the quest active for your character, as long as one person in your party has the quest active and talks to Ennis Granitestrider to activate it your good to go.

Now onto the steps:

Collect your Moa egg from the south of regent valley. Once collected its time to get it hardened. Travel to Durheim Archives and exit into Mourning Veil Falls, head south and you'll find the waterfall to submerge it in. This'll form your Hardened Moa egg.

Travel to Gunnar's Hold, because its time to enter the Bison Tournament. This may take a fair few tries, I was lucky enough to get Zho on my first try but many have spent days trying to get her to spawn, just keep at it, she'll arrive eventually in the third round. Defeat her and take her book, if you've got space in your backpack it'll automatically appear there. Give it a read if you want a nice little story and history on the NPC.

Travel to Cavalon and talk to Captain Juno with Zho's book in your backpack, she'll direct you to Katharine in Gyala Hatchery Explorable.

Keep Zho's book in your inventory as I believe its required. Put 10 steel ingots in your backpack and 50 spiritwood planks (you can craft these for 5 Wood Planks, 10 Piles of Glittering Dust and 100 gold each from numerous Crafters. I used to Xue Yi in Kaineng Center as its a safe one to get to.) Travel to the Leviathan Pits and head north to the huge crab structure where you'll find Katharine ready to craft you an incubator.

You now have somewhere to put all the Moa items thus saving precious space

Get your Skree Wings, Bog Skales and if your after a free Honeycomb with a quest some Grawl Necklaces and trade them with the required collectors. Take note that the nesting material is fixed on the character that trades for it so make sure its on the right person!

Run to Perdition Rock and get your Lava Rock in the north.

Put all your items into the incubator by double clicking it to open it up, then drag the items into the incubator.

Time to travel to Sorrow's Furnace. Make sure someone has Final Assault active and that you talk to the correct NPC to trigger it when you enter Sorrow's Furnace. Fight your way to the Forgemaster and make sure you get hit by one of his attacks. I know that the Molten Lava and also the huge metal ball both trigger "Sorrows Flame". If you have all the correct items in the incubator it'll be transformed into your brand new mini Black Moa!

Just to correct, you do not need the egg to get the book from Zho in the tournament.
As when I did this scavenger hunt, I didn't have an egg. Let alone hardened.

Quick question, is the Miniature Black Moa customized for your character? I heard someone in game say it is after someone was trying to sell one.

And I can confirm this...I have not yet started my "quest" for the mini moa but got the book first time through the tourney.

Lucky you. I got Zho to spawn in the preview event, but no book. Still haven't got her to spawn since the game has been out. At least I have some tourney tokens to sell, lol.
