Think I am being robbed atm... At work so can't confirm, but my NCsoft pwd was changed and my PWD reset.
Additionally try logging into/forget pwd from NCsoft and my security questions have changed.
What about them just using PWD reset via ncsoft store by guessing at your security questions?
----
The good news is I only have a little gold my runes probably arn't that great... so that effort was probably not worth what they walk away with...no stash of keys or anything like that valuable on my account.
You'll notice some overwhelming themes of "some IP from china" and "reset master ncsoft passwords" in those posts. That was just casually browsing the site for the last few days. But remember, according to ArenaNet, NCSoft DOESN'T have any security issues. *smirk*
You could PM me your character names, as if I could still add you to my Friend's List with those characters, it would probably mean they are still there. I tried it with your ranger, and the name was added to my friend's list at least.
I had the same idea last night, and mentioned it to Zaxares (who was ALSO hacked, it seems). Erin checked for us, and our character names are all still reserved. Now I just need my password reset so I can get in and see the damage.

Same. My GW password is different than the one(s) I use for forums and other websites, so there's no way they could of gotten it that way. All I can think of is a keylogger, finding out my account email and brute forcing the password (I'll admit it wasn't the most secure in the world), or a security leak in NCSoft itself.

Another MMO I play (Perfect World) has some in-game security measures that wouldn't be a bad idea to implement in Guild Wars. Characters remain on the server for a week after you delete them. You are locked from doing any account-sensitive actions (such as trading items or accessing storage) for one minute after you log in, and you can put a separate password on the storage itself. Some of the more valuable items, like genies, are by default flagged as undroppable and untradable, and you have to go through a waiting period to unflag them.

Sticking their collective heads in the sand and pretending something doesn't exist is hardly a good idea. To be fair, ArenaNet has been pretty good about acknowledging player concerns, both game-related and security-related. NCSoft... somewhat less so.
As a Guild Leader, I've seen a spike in recent recruits right after the first GW2 video. Lots of people got wind of it, and perhaps decided to "prepare for it" by playing some GW1. And perhaps juice up their HoM.
It makes sense that a lot of those players would also want easy gold to help fill the HoMs.
They should have there accounts permanently banned, heck I would do it for free if ArenaNet would give me enough access to track the money from the hacker, to the seller to the player that brought it, click ban [You have brought gold online your account has been banned, don't even bother contacting support you low life scum!]

I use a scrambled line of upper/lower case letter intermixed with symbols and numbers, I'd use a Japanese character set too if I knew what I was typing lol.
They are then written down on paper and stowed away in a safe which has a digital combination lock, and it's set to allow access at certain time during the day for only 2minutes then it locks again, and you don't get to access it again for another 24 hours.

Though I don't fully agree with that last line, but I otherwise I completely agree that they should get banned ASAP.

Yes, at least normal punctuation marks should be allowed in those passwords. I normally have some of these in my passwords, but of course the oh-so-very-secure NCsoft doesn't allow them.

yes clearly who ever set up the database at plaync is an absolute Nimrod!
Oh coincidently you remember that 2nd account I changed the password on? if you read back you'll find it anyway, 5 days FIVE DAYS! later I've STILL not gotten an email to that account that the password has been anyway been changed although it has but that isn't the point!
Even the password change emails aren't going out the instant it's change, although this might have something to do with hotmail but I highly doubt it.
I just wonder when I'm next. The number of hacking victims in my alliance grows by the day. And none of the victims did anything that could have comprimised their security. Is there any way Anet can protect us from all this?
If I get hacked I'll probably stop playing. There's no point in collecting so much, and then having some jack@ss hack your account and sell it all.
