Well, the price of their first album blows away iTunes, and the DRM seems to have similar limitations. If you want to get rid of the DRM, it seems to me that you could just burn the tracks to an audio CD, then rip them back to good old mp3 format (or even wav if you don't like recompressing).

My only reservation is that people who paid for the GW Collector's Edition will feel cheated because of the new bonus tracks they didn't get.

Seriously...6 dollars for some expanded music?

When I'd really like to have seen more than 1 theme per area anyway, and a couple that get recycled...

Seriously, for a game that has been the poster child for not gouging it's community for more and more money, this is a sad state of affairs. A handful of bonus tracks is the sort of thing that would normally get distributed for free, and would be in most games.

Well just to point out a few things before I wade in

1. The primary purpose of the site appears to be selling music
2. The thing that is onsale now is simply a DRM'd soundtrack album
3. I'd be supprised if the "game music pack" (which isn't onsale yet) had any DRM as its only for use in the game which is kind of build in restrictions right there. (also I be really supprised if AN allowed someone to fire up WMP just to play music in their game.)

Depending on the price of the new music pack I'll most likely buy it. But I won't touch anything with MS DRM with a barge-pole hence I'm guessing that the soundtrack won't sell.

Im surprised to see this type of game music selling. My step-uncle got the collectors listened for a couple mins and turned it off. Well I suppose it might help them fund for their services which is all right in my book.

Are people really into the music? I turn it down and play music from my mp3 collection while I play. Nothing like kicking butt to some AC/DC, or having Primus join me on a run. :happy34:

I'd like confirmation on this. If I can easily strip the DRM I might consider paying, but if there's no way around it I won't bother. I don't like restrictions on stuff I already paid for, especially if it's part of another monopolistic scheme from Microsoft.

Thanks for the comments. I was just wondering if anyone else had an issue with the whole DRM scam. Personally, if I can't buy the music directly from the artist, I don't buy it. I'm tired of giving the suits money and hoping some of it makes to the actual artists who do the actual work.
