Looks like GW isn't the only game getting hit. My husband found other GW forums where there was mention of Aion accounts getting hacked, too. It seems to only be hitting the NCSoft/Anet games, but when will it spillover into Blizzard or Turbine? It's getting really scary out there.
I'm reading it as "NCSoft has been breached" if what you are saying is accurate.
this might be just coincidence, but today when I logged into my credit union account, they asked me to change my password, after 8 years. I have no problem with the extra security, but it makes you wonder how deep this hack might go.
There was an update on the NCSoft site today. Any coincidence?

my heart sinks everytime I see one of these threads....I know that anet still thinks we are all criminals so its never going to be their fault. But something MUST be done to stop this! More and more credible people are getting hacked----I can see one or two, but the numbers are adding up, I highly doubt that many people have bought gold/had a keylogger/bad password, etc....
(and I sit and wonder when my number will be up as I started playing in 2005 as well----guess its time to move everything to a mule or two on a separate new account not linked to plaync thingy...)
I haven't been hacked (yet), but while losing 4+ years of gameplay would probably put me off playing ever again, I'm more worried about what other data may have been compromised. Data like addresses, credit card numbers, phone numbers etc.
It would be really nice to hear from Anet or NC Soft on that matter, and it would be nice to know if I have to change my credit card number, on top of having to change my NCS and GW passwords.
Thanks. I read the whole thread, and it might not be completely relevant to what's happening here. From what I understood, NCSoft has a habit of stripping banned characters of all gear and stuff on Aion, and people are complaining about how characters banned with false positive are stripped as well. There's no way that any ANet personnel will delete any items on GW characters because of how system works, so it's not completely a same issue. Unless it's been observed that numerous people got hacked and been banned from it.
Also, Aion is sounding really bleak from what I saw in that Aion thread, with all the bots and gold buying, lack of trust and abundant lies among people... But of course, GW, even without meaning for money within necessities, gets enough share of bots and gold sellers; games with more emphasis on currency system would have that much more share of gold trading and bots.

Like Raspberry Jam said, WoW accounts are always being hacked. It's why they added the Blizzard authenticator (although now I guess it's the Battle.net authenticator), something I wish NCSoft would implement.
My account too has been hacked today. Full set of obby armour wiped, a ton of rare items and mats. Recieved an eye of janthir green mini as a 4th bday present this week - gone! Also kunnavang gone.
Absolutely gutted. Have never bought or sold gold online. Password is secure as is my computer. This HAS to be on their end not ours.
