MPB? There is no polar bear minipet. A good friend of mine said that once (and then she moved away to live with a frog. Go figure)

That's not so strange, since several of those people are in fact ANet employees. But I disagree with Linsey, the economy would fill its purpose (to get people what they want) much better if inscriptable items started dropping in Prophecies and Factions.

Yeah, but how much work would be involved to change over all the weapons for each mob?
You need to realize, each mob has a droplist of items, both normal mode and hardmode. Each item has a generator on it which gives it's stats, everything from white to blue, to purple, to gold.
They'd pretty much have to go through and redo ALL those droplists on each and every mob.
When they redid the armor and armor drops from mobs in factions and proph, they had the entire team working on GW at the time. Now it's just the 5 of them.
That's one of the main reasons it falls under the 'not happenin' catagory. If it was simple, and could be done, it'd have been done ages ago.

And we have just heard from Arena Net's newest programmer, who will next present us with a concise description of how the loot scaling mechanics work.
And making the inscription system be game wide isn't something that we can't do, it's something that we don't want to do for a variety of reasons, one of which being that there are tons of people out there that really don't want it. Not all skins drop from the zchest, not even all "high end" skins drop from the zchest. - Image:User Linsey Murdock sig.jpgLinsey talk 18:39, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
So yeah, definitely our junior programmer hit the spot when claiming...

Dude, I don't know what your problem is, but get over it.
All I know is I asked her some months to maybe a year or so ago about this. Basicly what I got from her was, would I rather have her spend 6 months working out the inscription system for the two games, or work on actual content.
No, I don't have screenies, and she was as in a bad a mood as you seem to be in nowadays, I apologised for bugging her, and went off and did my own thing.

So between a "he said she said he said she said" comment and a direct quote from the person we're talking about, which do you think anyone should believe in?

Not to support Erasculio's unusually strong responses to you, but her saying that isn't the same thing as saying "If it was simple, and could be done, it'd have been done ages ago."
It is probably just a combination of things: wanting to let people keep their unique items and a lack of time to do the work required. They aren't mutually exclusive really.
You know, from my subjective point of view, in light of the account hackings and obnoxious powertraders who open trade windows with you just because you're standing around and having some rare mini running next to you because you want to see him walking around...
... there should be more MPBs in GW. Thousands. Until everyone that wants one is happy. Until no ******* thinks that he should hack some accounts to get and dupe MPBs anymore. Until they are worth nothing anymore and you can just have him run around and enjoy him without being scared of the hackers and other scumbags.
Because currently, if you should happen to have some rare thing, you're bloody well better off to hide it while you're in an outpost.

I don't harass Linsey in game - talking is not harassing. Besides, she's hardly on anyways - and if she is, I don't always talk with her. But since I am "harassing" Linsey in game, I guess talking about my grandma who no one liked passing away, or a thing which I promised to keep secret with John Hargrove, is considered harassment. Really? I admit, I do ask about things regarding GW, and I do thank things that she did - like the Halloween quests, but not every time, and certainly it is not harassment. If she wants me to stop talking to her, she can say so. And if a conversation is all about game-related things, then I apologize for bugging her and am on my way long before she logs/goes offline.
In my opinion, there should be inscriptions added to Prophecies and Factions, and a lot more should be retroactive from additions of new campaigns - and @Noa Brightington things being programmed already has nothing to do with it - if that did, then they wouldn't have made insignias retroactive. Though in programming it is different, in idea, it would be the same - and in fact would be less specified as with inscriptions and weapon, there won't be a need for "if maxed, the armor keeps the insignias, if not maxed, then the armor looses the insignias" which occurred during the event of the removal of innate insignias of Prophecies and Factions armor.

You're usually a lot nicer than this Erasculio...

I don't think hackers should be a reasoning behind making things not-so-rare. Don't let such an effect become that kind of cause. True, with fewer rare things, there would be less reason to hack specific individuals for items, but overall, hacking won't be reduced - even if everything was brought down to being next to worthless in the gw-"economy".

I agree Erasculio is usually more polite, but really, I don't see how this can manage to be over the top either, just because it differs from the usual behaviour.
