How to configure an Ele specifically for N.O.X.?

Greetings!

Have not had too many problems taking out N.O.X. with my other classes, but my Ele is hitting the wall. He is configured as Earth, but I can change him in any way that could help.

I even tried throwing some points into water and equipped Ward Against Harm, but N.O.X. was not impressed.

Tried three times with other people and their heroes, but the wipes came faster than when I was alone with H&H, so I am wanting to do this with H&H. Right now the set-up is:

* my Ele
* a LoD hybrid prot-healing monk
* Daze & interrupt ranger
* M.O.X
* various combos of henchies

Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance.

BTW: This Ele does not have access to Pain Inverter or any other EotN skills, but does have all Earth and three-four other Ele elites, such as WAH.

I remember running an "air spike" build when I did it, cracked armor works wonders.

As for the battle, do you wipe or does the NPC die?

I think I took Maelstrom, to keep him interrupted, then an interrupt ranger and a mesmer. So long as you keep him dazed/interrupted, he's not such a problem. Just flag heroes away from his little friends when they start to build up.

Thanks for the thoughts, MoonUnit and Kokabel~!

Going to take your advice and see if I can put something together along those lines. *wheels in brain creak to life* ...

@MoonUnit: It has been a mix of losing the NPC and party wipes. Love the Cracked Armor idea.

@Kokapel: Yes, my Mesmers quite owned the big piece of gunk; afraid to throw Norgu in there, though, and lose the Daze, although I guess I could go Me/R or something wackoid like that. I am assuming you took no Monk hero, as M.O.X. is necessary--just hench Monks. I should probably try that as well, although then the NPC is quite vulnerable.

Has been frustrating that this Earth Ele, who does very well most everywhere else, may need to stray so far from his element to put down N.O.X. Oh, well. Argh .....

Thanks again.

Actually, M.O.X. isn't required for any of the golem quests except the last one (when you go to turn it in).

Ahhhhhhhh~!!!

I did not realize that the little (OK, big) Moxinator was not required on this one. Many huge thanks, MoonUnit~!! You have made my day~!! That will radically change things, I suspect. You are such a knowledgeable and helpful person--have read your posts for years. Thanks again. My Ele will (I think) at last move forward~! On to Ventari's~!!! Hee.

Edit: *offers gigantic, yummy cookie*

Ok, just in case you still have trouble, try an air spike build. It's the fastest way to kill a single enemy with an Ele.
